Когда ехать в Японию: сезонный гид для агентств

1 July 2026 · Explera DMC · 4 min read

"When should my client go to Japan?" is the most common question the Explera Japan trade desk receives, and the honest answer is that Japan has no bad season — it has four distinct products wearing the same passport stamp. What changes month to month is not whether the trip works but which trip it is, what it costs, and how far ahead it must be booked. This guide gives agents the season-by-season picture with the commercial detail — pricing pressure and lead times — that consumer articles leave out.

Весна: конец марта — май, премиум сакуры

Cherry blossom season is the most famous travel window in Asia and behaves commercially like a major world event. The front line moves south to north — Tokyo and Kyoto typically peak from late March into the first week of April, with Tohoku and Hokkaido following through April into early May. The visual payoff is genuine, but agents must sell it with honest caveats: bloom dates shift year to year, peak lasts roughly a week in any one city, and hotels price 30 to 50 percent above baseline with allotments closing six to nine months out. The full operating detail is in our sakura tour programme note. Late April into May — Golden Week excepted — is one of Japan's best-kept secrets: fresh green landscapes, mild weather and post-sakura pricing.

Лето: июнь — август, фестивали и семейный сезон

June opens with the rainy season — grey and humid in Honshu, though rarely trip-breaking — while Hokkaido stays dry and mild and becomes the natural summer circuit. July and August are hot and humid in the cities, but they are also matsuri season: Gion Matsuri in Kyoto, Nebuta in Aomori, fireworks over Japan's rivers, and the open window for climbing Mount Fuji. Because the school-holiday calendar drives family travel, summer is when Tokyo Disneyland, teamLab and Osaka's Universal Studios anchor family packages — capacity planning for those is covered in our teamLab group booking note. Pricing sits at mid-band except around the mid-August Obon holiday, when domestic travel compresses rail and hotel capacity for a week.

Осень: октябрь — начало декабря, окно коё

Autumn is spring's equal and, for repeat visitors, often its superior. The koyo foliage front runs opposite to sakura — north to south — starting in Hokkaido in early October and reaching Kyoto's gardens in mid-to-late November. The colours hold longer than blossom does, weather is stable and clear, and the pricing premium, while real, is gentler than April's. Kyoto in the last two weeks of November is the one genuine pressure point, with temple-district hotels selling out months ahead — the full picture is in our autumn foliage programme guide. For agents balancing client budgets against visual impact, late October in the Japanese Alps and Nikko is the best value-to-spectacle ratio of the year.

Зима: декабрь — февраль, пухляк и иллюминации

Winter splits Japan into two products. The first is world-class skiing — Hokkaido's Niseko and Furano and Nagano's Hakuba, whose powder reputation is covered in our Hokkaido ski programme note. The second is the cultural winter break: city illuminations, snow-viewing onsen — the snow monkeys of Nagano and the open-air baths of Hakone, detailed in our onsen and ryokan guide — plus the Sapporo Snow Festival in early February. Outside the New Year holiday week, when domestic travel peaks, winter offers the year's softest city pricing, which makes January a quietly excellent month for value-driven Tokyo and Kyoto itineraries.

Правило агента: месяц подбирают под клиента, а не под открытку

The commercial summary is straightforward. Sell sakura and koyo to clients who value the spectacle and will book six months or more ahead at premium pricing. Sell May, early June, September and early October to clients who want Japan at its most comfortable with fair rates and manageable crowds. Sell summer to families and festival-goers, and winter to skiers and to couples who will trade cold air for hot springs and low-season value. Whatever the month, book rail and high-demand experiences at the same time as the hotels — in Japan, capacity is always the constraint, never the demand. Explera Japan quotes all four seasons as complete net-rate programmes, from Golden Route packages to fully tailor-made FIT.
