Muay Thai for Groups: Training Sessions, Fight Nights and Camps

6 October 2026 · Explera DMC · 3 min read

The Tourism Authority of Thailand is using Muay Thai to sell Thailand abroad: on 26 September 2026 it staged a Muay Thai event with Rajadamnern Stadium at the Sporthalle Wankdorf in Bern, with ten bouts and more than 2,000 spectators. TAT presents the sport as part of its "Healing is the New Luxury" campaign, linking it to fitness, discipline and wellness, and says it wants that interest to bring people to train in Thailand. Our Thailand team covers the event in its briefing on TAT's Muay Thai event in Bern. Here we look at how to put Muay Thai into a group programme.

Three Ways to Include Muay Thai

  • A beginner session. One or two hours with a coach, in Bangkok or Phuket, suits mixed-ability groups and works as a team activity on an incentive.
  • A fight night. An evening at a stadium gives the group the spectacle without anyone stepping into a ring. Book seats as a block and plan the transfer back.
  • A camp week. Several days of training at a camp suit clients who already train, with recovery, meals and rest built around the sessions.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

  • What is the group's level? Match the camp and the coach to the least experienced person, not the fittest.
  • Is the fight calendar set? Stadium cards can change, so confirm the date before you print it in a programme.
  • Who is not training? Plan a parallel activity for anyone who would rather watch, rest or visit the city.
  • Is there medical cover? Ask whether the activity is covered by the group's travel insurance.

Pair It with Recovery

TAT's campaign ties Muay Thai to wellness, and a programme can do the same. A Thai massage, a spa afternoon or a quiet beach day after a camp week turns a hard training trip into a balanced one. Our Thailand team arranges the sessions, the stadium seats, the spa bookings and the transfers between them.
