Anantara Siam Bangkok has finished a US$50 million renovation of all 335 rooms, suites and villas, its Grand Ballroom and meeting rooms, its spa and its fitness facilities. The work ran in two phases from June 2025 to September 2026 while the hotel stayed open. Our Thailand team covers the hotel itself in its briefing on the Anantara Siam renovation. Here we use it as a case study in booking a group into any hotel that has just been renovated.
What Changed at the Hotel
- Rooms. All 335 rooms, suites and villas were redesigned, with new Garden Pool Suites and Villas and a two-bedroom Jim Thompson Explorer Suite.
- Events. The Grand Ballroom and the meeting rooms were refitted with new conference technology.
- Wellness. The spa was overhauled, and the sports club now has a gym, a Pilates studio, a Muay Thai ring and a climbing wall.
- Heritage. The hand-painted lobby mural and ceiling panels were kept.

Why a Renovated Hotel Needs Fresh Checks
A renovation changes the product you are selling. Room categories, room counts, meeting-room layouts and even outlet names can all be different from the fact sheet in your files. The published reports on this hotel do not give new ballroom capacities or room counts by category, which is common after a relaunch. So treat your old notes as out of date until the hotel confirms them in writing.
A Checklist for Any Renovated Hotel
- Ask for the current fact sheet. Old capacities and floor plans may no longer apply.
- Confirm the room mix. New suite and villa categories are often small in number, so check how many exist before you promise them to a group.
- Check for remaining works. Ask whether any area is still closed or being finished on your dates.
- Re-test the technology. New meeting-room equipment is a selling point, but ask for a technical walk-through before a conference.
- Inspect before you commit. A site visit shows what a press release cannot.
