Indonesian Groups to Korea Visa-Free: What Agents Need

12 October 2026 · Explera DMC · 3 min read

The short answer

Since 28 May 2026, Indonesian tour groups of three or more can enter Korea without a visa for up to 15 days. The measure is temporary and runs to the end of December 2026. A Korean agency must register the group list 24 hours before entry. Explera DMC handles the list, halal meals and prayer time.

Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing source markets for Korea, and a temporary visa waiver now makes group travel simpler for the rest of 2026. Our Korea team covers the rules in its guide to Korea for Indonesian groups. This note is for agents in Indonesia, and for operators elsewhere who sell to Indonesian clients.

Who Can Use the Waiver?

  • Groups only. The waiver covers Indonesian tour groups of three or more people. Individual travellers still need a visa.
  • Up to 15 days. A group can stay in Korea for up to 15 days without a visa.
  • Dates. It started on 28 May 2026 and runs to the end of December 2026.
  • Screening. Anyone with an entry ban or a past illegal stay is excluded from the waiver.

What Does the Group List Involve?

  • A Korean agency files it. The Korean travel agency registers the tourist list on a government website at least 24 hours before entry.
  • The Justice Ministry checks it. Listed people with an entry ban or a past illegal stay are removed from the waiver.
  • We ask for passports early. Our Korea team asks for passport details well before the deadline, so a problem is found while there is still time to fix it.
  • One screened guest affects the plan. A guest who is excluded needs another route into Korea, so check the whole list before tickets are issued.

How Should Agents Plan Around the Dates?

  • Travel inside 2026. We found no announcement of an extension into 2027. Quote 2027 departures on the normal visa route until that changes.
  • Keep a back-up. If a group could slip past December, plan for visas as well.
  • Halal and prayer time. Our Korea team plans meals with halal sourcing confirmed in writing, and builds prayer breaks into each day.
  • Language. Bahasa Indonesia-speaking guides can be arranged on request, subject to availability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an Indonesian couple travelling alone use the waiver?

No. The waiver is for tour groups of three or more arranged through Korean travel agencies. Couples and individual travellers still apply for a visa in the usual way.

How early must the group list be filed?

A Korean travel agency must register it on a government website at least 24 hours before entry. Explera DMC asks for passport details much earlier, so any problem can be fixed in time.

Does the waiver continue in 2027?

We found no announcement of an extension. The measure is set to end in December 2026, so plan later departures on the visa route unless a new announcement says otherwise.

Can Explera DMC plan halal meals for Indonesian groups?

Yes. Explera DMC plans meals with halal sourcing confirmed in writing, adds prayer breaks to each day, and arranges Bahasa Indonesia-speaking guides on request, subject to availability.
