Korea Grand Sale: Selling Korea's Quiet Winter to Groups

Winter is the quiet season in Korea for many group buyers, and a national campaign gives an agent a reason to put it in a brochure. Korea Grand Sale is that campaign. Our Korea team covers the festival in detail in its Korea Grand Sale planning note. This note is for agents deciding how to use it.

What Did the Last Edition Offer?

• A longer run. 17 December 2025 to 22 February 2026: 68 days, up from 45, and starting earlier in December.
• More partners. A record 1,750 companies took part, from airlines and hotels to retail, food and beauty brands.
• Five themes. K-Gourmet, K-Exciting, K-Stylish, K-Healing and K-Inspired: food, entertainment, beauty and fashion, wellness, and culture.
• Trips out of Seoul. A K-Train ran from Seoul to Jeonju, and to Taebaek and the East Coast, as day trips or for independent travel.

What Can You Promise a Client Now?

• Not the dates. No 2026-27 edition had been announced when we checked on 12 October 2026. Brochure copy should say "winter" rather than a date.
• Not a discount. Festival offers are written for individual visitors. We check each one against your dates and group before it goes into a quote.
• A winter programme. Seoul shopping sits well beside winter festivals, illuminations, hot springs and a ski day, which do not depend on the festival.
• A planned shopping stop. Our Korea team chooses department-store, duty-free or market stops that suit the group and fixes the time.

Which Groups Does It Suit?

• Incentive and reward groups. A shopping evening is an easy free-time block in a winter incentive.
• Repeat visitors. Clients who have seen the palaces get a different reason to come back.
• Food and beauty-minded groups. Two of the five themes were food and beauty, which fit those programmes well.

When is the next Korea Grand Sale?

No dates for a 2026-27 edition had been announced when we checked on 12 October 2026. The last edition ran from 17 December 2025 to 22 February 2026. We confirm the dates once the ministry publishes them.

Is Korea Grand Sale worth building a whole tour around?

Usually not. It works best as one part of a Korean winter programme, alongside festivals, illuminations, hot springs or skiing, rather than as the only reason to travel.

Do festival discounts apply to tour groups?

Is Korea Grand Sale the same as Korea Sale Festa?

No. Korea Sale Festa is a separate autumn shopping event run by a different ministry. Korea Grand Sale is the winter festival aimed at foreign visitors.
