Korea has opened a pilot travel pass for foreign visitors in Busan, and it is a tool for independent clients rather than for coach groups. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization started the K-Tour Pass on 1 October 2026. Our Korea team sets out the details in its briefing on the K-Tour Pass in Busan. This note covers what it means when you sell Korea.
What the Pass Is
- Foreign visitors only. It is a pilot, so terms and partners can change.
- Two versions. One covers a day of travel to Busan, and one is sold together with the Korail Pass for two to five days.
- Rail and bus discounts. Reduced fares on intercity trains and buses to Busan.
- Attraction entry. Free entry at one of 35 partner attractions and discounts at around 50 more.
Which Clients It Suits
- FIT clients. Independent travellers going from Seoul to Busan by train can use it themselves.
- Extensions. Guests who stay in Busan after a group tour ends can use it for the extra days.
- Free days. It gives a group guest something to do on a day without a guide.
Where It Does Not Help
- Coach groups. A group on a private coach with pre-booked entries already has transport and tickets, so the pass adds little.
- Fixed schedules. Each traveller buys and holds a pass, which does not fit a tight group timetable.
How to Handle It
- Check the current terms. Because it is a pilot, confirm the version, the seller and the partner list before you quote.
- Say who buys it. The traveller buys it, normally through an online seller, and collects the card at an airport or station.
- Keep the programme separate. Price the planned programme as you would anyway, and treat the pass as an optional extra for guests.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a group use the K-Tour Pass?
Individual members can, but a coach group with booked entries gains little. It suits FIT clients, extensions and free days.
Where is the K-Tour Pass valid?
It is a pilot for Busan, with discounts on trains and buses to the city and entry to partner attractions there.
Does the pass replace a planned programme?
No. It is an option for independent time. Transfers, guides and group entries are planned separately.
