Selling Korea to Groups from Thailand: Seasons, Entry and Guides

10 October 2026 · Explera DMC · 2 min read

Korea group tours from Thailand sell on the season: snow in winter, red and gold leaves in autumn, blossom in spring. For guests from a warm climate, those are things home cannot offer, and they are what the group is buying. Our Korea team covers the planning in its guide to Korea for groups from Thailand. This note is for agents putting the departure together.

Sell the Season First

  • Winter. Snow, a first ski lesson, sledding and snow tubing in Gangwon are the main draw for many guests.
  • Autumn. Leaves turn in October and November, from the Seoul palaces to the national parks.
  • Spring. Cherry blossom arrives in late March and April.
  • Clothing. Guests who have never packed for snow need clear advice on coats, gloves and footwear, sent with the pre-departure notes.

Entry: Check Every Passport

  • No single rule for the group. K-ETA requirements and temporary exemptions change, so check each traveller's passport before ticketing.
  • Apply early. Where a K-ETA is needed, apply at least 72 hours before departure.
  • Paperwork at arrival. Printed hotel confirmations, the return ticket and the itinerary help at the arrival desk.

Guides, Meals and the Programme

  • Thai-speaking guides are scarce. There are fewer of them than English or Chinese speakers, so book early or pair an English-speaking guide with a tour leader who interprets.
  • Meals. Korean barbecue, fried chicken and street food usually go down well; mix Korean meals with the odd familiar dish.
  • Favourite visits. Nami Island, a palace visit in hanbok, Myeongdong, a theme park and the Busan coast.
  • Shopping. Set aside time for cosmetics and fashion in the programme rather than squeezing it in.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should a group from Thailand travel to Korea?

Match the dates to what the guests want to see: winter for snow, October and November for autumn colour, late March and April for blossom.

Do Thai passport holders need a K-ETA?

Check each passport before ticketing, because requirements and exemptions change. Where one is needed, apply at least 72 hours before departure.

Can we get a Thai-speaking guide?

Yes, but there are fewer of them, so request one when you confirm the dates.
