IBTM Asia Pacific 2027: Planning Delegations to Bangkok

A new trade show for the business-events industry is coming to Bangkok, and it will draw buyers and suppliers from across Asia Pacific. Our Thailand team covers the announcement in its briefing on IBTM Asia Pacific 2027. This note is for agencies and MICE planners in our source markets who expect to send people to it.

What Has Been Announced?

• Dates and venue. IBTM Asia Pacific runs on 9 and 10 June 2027 at BITEC, the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Bang Na.
• Organiser and partner. RX, the company behind IBTM World and IBTM Americas, runs the show through its local company, RX BITEC. The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is the official host destination partner.
• Format. IBTM says the show follows its hosted buyer model: corporate, association and agency buyers meet destinations, venues, hotels and suppliers in pre-scheduled appointments, with a conference programme alongside.
• A first edition. Earlier plans for an Asia Pacific edition in Singapore and Hong Kong did not go ahead, so Bangkok in 2027 is the first.

What Should Agencies Plan Now?

• Who is travelling, and in what role. Hosted buyer places are allocated by the organiser, not by agencies, and IBTM says details will follow. Exhibitors and delegates travel on their own arrangements. Sort travellers by role before you hold anything.
• Rooms near the venue. BITEC sits beside BTS Bang Na station. Hotels in Bang Na or along the Sukhumvit line keep daily transfers short.
• Days around the show, not inside it. Appointments fill the two show days. Build site inspections, venue visits and familiarisation programmes before or after them.
• Onward programmes. Buyers who fly in from elsewhere in the region may want to see other Thai destinations while they are there. Our Thailand team can add a short programme beyond Bangkok.
