ICONPHUKET in 2029: What It Means for Phuket Group Programmes

What Has Siam Piwat Announced?

• A 2029 target. Siam Piwat, the group behind Siam Paragon and ICONSIAM, plans to open ICONPHUKET in 2029. It is the group's first major project outside Bangkok.
• Attractions, not only shops. About a third of the floor area is set aside for attractions. Twelve indoor and outdoor attractions are planned, and more than 40% of the site is to be green and open space.
• Near the airport. The site is in Thalang district, on Thepkrasattri Road between Phuket International Airport and Phuket Town.
• Part of a larger scheme. ICONPHUKET anchors Synthesis Ark Phuket, a 50-billion-baht mixed-use development by CV Group of Companies, whose first phase is due in 2032.

What Should Group Planners Note Now?

• Nothing to book yet. The attractions have not been detailed, and developers' dates move. Keep 2026 and 2027 programmes as they are.
• The visitor forecast is the developer's. Siam Piwat expects 80,000 to 100,000 visitors a day, a projection rather than a measured figure. Plan coach access and timings on what opens, not on the forecast.
• A possible first- or last-day stop. A site between the airport and Phuket Town could suit the arrival or departure afternoon of a programme. Confirm access and opening hours once they are published.
