Yeosu Islands Expo: A South Coast Day for Korea Groups

15 October 2026 · Explera DMC · 3 min read

The short answer

The 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo opened on 5 September and closes on 4 November in Dolsan, Yeosu, on Korea's south coast, with programmes on nearby islands. For agents with Korea groups travelling this autumn, Explera DMC can add one expo day to a south coast programme while it is still open.

Yeosu, on Korea's south coast, is hosting the 2026 World Islands Expo until 4 November. Our Korea team covers the dates and venues in its briefing on the Yeosu World Islands Expo for groups. This note is for agents across Asia with Korea groups departing in the next few weeks.

What Is the Yeosu World Islands Expo?

  • Dates. 5 September to 4 November 2026, 61 days in all.
  • Where. The main site is in the Jinmo District of Dolsan, Yeosu, with the Yeosu World Expo site and nearby islands hosting further programmes.
  • What is inside. Eight halls at the main site, among them a theme hall with a 360-degree media facade, an ocean ecology hall and a future island hall on urban air mobility and hydrogen vessels.
  • Who takes part. Local governments from 30 countries and three international organisations.

Which Groups Does It Suit?

  • Groups already on the south coast. It works as one day beside Busan, Suncheon or an island stay, not as the reason for the trip.
  • Repeat Korea clients. A south coast leg gives them something new after Seoul and Busan.
  • Groups with an interest in the sea. The ocean ecology and future island halls suit study and special-interest groups.
  • Not for late departures. The expo closes on 4 November, so it only fits groups arriving before then.

How Does a Group Day Work?

  • Base nearby. We put the group in Yeosu or close by for the night, so the expo is not a long day trip.
  • Timing. We set arrival outside the busiest entry hours and keep the coach close to the gate.
  • Islands. The organisers announced ferry fare discounts and an island tour offer for the expo period. We confirm what applies on your date.
  • Weather. The organisers have plans for typhoons and heavy rain, and we keep an indoor alternative in the programme.
