Big Mountain Music Festival returns on 12 and 13 December 2026 as Big Mountain Village, at a new site near Farm Chokchai 3 on Thanarat Road in Khao Yai. Explera DMC advises agencies to hold Khao Yai rooms as soon as clients have tickets, plan transfers around a busy two-lane road, and book vehicles early.
Thailand's largest music festival is back in December with a new name and a new home, and festival fans from across Asia will ask about it. Our Thailand team has the detail in its briefing on Big Mountain Village. This note is for agencies and tour operators that sell festival weekends.
What Has Changed?
- A new name: Big Mountain Music Festival returns as Big Mountain Village.
- New dates: Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2026.
- A new site: near Farm Chokchai 3, at kilometre 12 of Thanarat Road in Khao Yai.
- Tickets are sold at 7-Eleven and online; we do not sell them.

What Should Agencies Plan For?
- Rooms first. Khao Yai hotels and resorts fill quickly on a festival weekend, so hold them as soon as clients have tickets.
- The road. Residents fear traffic jams because Thanarat Road has one lane in each direction. Plan transfers around the busiest hours, not the shortest route.
- Cool nights. December evenings in the hills are cool, so tell clients to pack warm layers.
- The park. Khao Yai National Park reopened most attractions on 6 October after the September floods, but a few sites stayed closed; check before adding a park day.
What Else Is On That Weekend?
Tomorrowland Thailand runs from 11 to 13 December near Pattaya, so coaches, drivers and guides out of Bangkok will be in demand on both routes. Book vehicles early, and do not plan for one group to attend both festivals. Our Tomorrowland Thailand note has the background.
