Korea's 2027 calendar guidelines, published in June 2026, show ten breaks of three days or more. Seollal runs from 6 to 9 February, including a substitute holiday, and Chuseok from 14 to 16 September. Explera DMC checks every 2027 Korea group date against these holidays before quoting.
Agencies building 2027 programmes for Korea need the holiday calendar before they fix dates. Our Korea team lists every break in its note on Korea's 2027 public holidays; this page is the short version for agencies selling Korea alongside our other destinations.
When Are Korea's Main Holidays in 2027?
- Seollal, 6 to 9 February. Seollal falls on Sunday 7 February, so a substitute holiday follows on Tuesday 9 February.
- Chuseok, 14 to 16 September. Chuseok falls on Wednesday 15 September, so the break runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
- Other three-day breaks fall around New Year, Independence Movement Day, Labor Day, Constitution Day, Liberation Day, National Foundation Day, Hangul Day and Christmas.

Why Do the Holidays Matter for Groups?
- Domestic demand. Koreans travel on these dates, so hotels outside Seoul, high-speed trains and highways fill first.
- Closures. Many shops and restaurants close for part of Seollal and Chuseok, and opening hours at sights change.
- Coaches and guides. Holiday weeks are in demand, so they need to be held early.

How Do We Plan Around Them?
- Move the dates where possible. Where a group's dates can move, we steer away from Seollal and Chuseok.
- Book early where they cannot. We hold rail, hotels and coaches early and plan the route against holiday traffic.
- Check each venue. We confirm opening hours for every sight on the holiday dates.
