Chungcheong 2027 World University Games: Groups and Delegations

University sport comes to central Korea in August 2027, and agencies with student, team or supporter groups are already asking about it. Our Korea team covers the Games in its planning note on Chungcheong 2027. This page is the short version for agencies across Asia.

What Is Confirmed for Chungcheong 2027?

• Dates. 1 to 12 August 2027.
• Host areas. Daejeon, Sejong, North Chungcheong and South Chungcheong, together called the Chungcheong Megacity.
• Programme. 18 sports plus para taekwondo, with almost 250 medal events.
• Where the sports are. Daejeon has swimming, diving and fencing; Sejong judo and table tennis; North Chungcheong athletics, archery, gymnastics, badminton, basketball, rowing and taekwondo; South Chungcheong beach volleyball, golf, tennis, volleyball and water polo.

Which Groups Should Plan Now?

• University delegations. Teams and officials need transfers, meals and daily runs to their venues.
• Supporter groups. Families, alumni and fan clubs follow a team or a sport for part of the Games.
• Study groups. Sport science and event management students can combine sessions with campus or city visits.
• Hotel pressure. Teams, officials and visitors will compete for rooms in Daejeon and Cheongju in early August, which is also peak summer in Korea.

How Does Explera Plan It?

• Base by venue cluster. We place each group near the sports it is there to see.
• Rail from Seoul. High-speed trains reach Daejeon and Osong from Seoul, so a group can arrive through Incheon and transfer by rail.
• Days between sessions. We add short programmes in Daejeon, Cheongju or Gongju.
• Tickets. FISU's one-year-to-go release did not cover ticketing. We confirm arrangements once the organisers publish them.
