Jeju International Airport handled 3,031,529 international passengers by 10 October 2026, more than in all of 2025, according to Korea Airports Corporation. Passengers from Taiwan, Japan and Singapore rose about 60% or more. Explera DMC plans Jeju-first group programmes for agencies whose clients can fly in direct.
Agencies selling Korea now have a better case for starting a group on Jeju rather than in Seoul. Our Korea team covers the figures in its Jeju passenger record note; this page is the short version for agencies selling Korea alongside our other destinations.
What Do the New Jeju Figures Show?
- A record by October. Jeju International Airport handled 3,031,529 international passengers by 10 October 2026, above the 3,029,280 for all of 2025.
- Fast growth from three markets. From January to September, passengers from Taiwan rose about 60% to roughly 495,000, from Japan about 60% to roughly 216,000 and from Singapore about 65% to roughly 126,000.
- China is still the largest. Passengers from China, including Hong Kong and Macao, rose 17.3% to about 2.05 million.
- Fewer domestic visitors. Korean tourists to Jeju fell 14.1% in the first two weeks of October 2026.

Why Does It Matter for Groups?
- Direct flights cut a connection. Where a market has direct flights to Jeju, a group can start or finish there without changing planes in Seoul.
- An open-jaw saves a day. Fly into Jeju and out of Seoul or Busan, or the reverse, and the programme needs one domestic flight instead of two.
- Language guides go first. With more visitors from China, Taiwan and Japan, guides in those languages are the first thing we confirm.

How Do We Plan a Jeju-First Programme?
- Arrival day. A hotel in Jeju City or Jungmun, chosen by the flight time and the next day's route.
- East and west. Seongsan and the east coast one day, the west coast and the Hallasan foothills the next.
- Onward. A short domestic flight to Seoul or Busan for the second half, or home from Jeju.
