THE NEXTT HOTEL opens in Tachikawa, west Tokyo, on 1 March 2027 with 211 rooms and seven function rooms, the largest seating about 1,500 guests. Explera DMC treats it as a one-building option for conferences, gala dinners and incentive groups that want west Tokyo, and holds hall space as soon as dates are set.
Most agents know Tokyo's big hotels by heart, but few have had a reason to look at Tachikawa. That changes in March 2027, when THE NEXTT HOTEL Tachikawa opens with one of the largest banquet halls in the Tama area. Our Japan team has the details in its Tachikawa venue note. This page is how we would sell it to a client.
What Does THE NEXTT HOTEL Tachikawa Offer Groups?
- Opening date: 1 March 2027. The hotel takes the rebuilt site of the former Palace Hotel Tachikawa, which closed at the end of 2023. Tachihi Hospitality Management runs it.
- 211 rooms. They sit on the 6th to 12th floors, with Japanese-style rooms among them.
- A hall for about 1,500 guests. It divides into smaller rooms, and there are seven function rooms in all.
- A short walk from the station. About five minutes from JR Tachikawa Station and three from Tachikawa-Kita on the Tama Monorail.

How Would We Sell It to a Client?
- As a west Tokyo base. Tachikawa has fast trains into central Tokyo and sits closer to the Tama hills and Mount Takao. A group that wants a quieter base with a hike or a temple nearby fits well here.
- One building for sleeping, meeting and dining. For a conference of a few hundred, the rooms, the plenary and the gala dinner can all sit under one roof, which keeps transfers short.
- Hold the hall early. Large halls around Tokyo go first in spring and autumn. We request space as soon as the client has dates.
- Add a park afternoon. Showa Kinen Park, a national government park, is close by for a team activity or a walk between sessions.
