Gumi Ramen Festival 2026: A Korea Rail-Day Stop for Groups

26 October 2026 · Explera DMC · 3 min read

The short answer

The Gumi Ramen Festival runs from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026 around Gumi Station in North Gyeongsang. Gumi City puts local ramyeon recipes at its centre and runs Kakao T shuttles from five cities. Explera DMC fits it into a group's rail day between Seoul and Daegu or Busan, with its own coach and guide.

The Gumi Ramen Festival is the sort of stop clients remember long after the palaces blur together. Almost everyone has eaten Korean instant noodles at home, and a whole town serving its own version is an easy story to sell. Our Korea desk has the full festival briefing. This is how we use it.

What Is the Gumi Ramen Festival?

  • When and where. Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026, around Gumi Station in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province.
  • Who runs it. Gumi City, which holds it every autumn.
  • What is on. A ramyeon restaurant zone. The local businesses in it were picked through document screening and on-site cooking tests, so each one serves its own recipe.
  • How people get there. The city runs Kakao T shuttles on seven routes: Seoul Station, Jamsil and Sadang in the capital area, plus Daegu, Busan, Daejeon and Gwangju. Each route runs only if enough people book it.

Why Does It Work on a Korea Rail Day?

Gumi sits on the Gyeongbu Line between Seoul and Daegu. KTX trains stop at Gimcheon(Gumi) Station, a coach ride away. So the festival slots into a day you are already spending moving south. Leave Seoul in the morning, give the group two or three hours of noodles and street food, and be in Daegu or Busan for dinner. Our unified KTX and SRT note covers how we build those transfer days, and our Hansik Festa write-up has the Seoul side of a food-led trip.

What Do We Watch For?

  • Three dates only. We sell it for 6 to 8 November 2026 and not around them.
  • Our coach, not the shuttle. The Kakao T shuttle is booked by individuals and runs on demand. Groups go by their own coach.
  • Weekend crowds. Saturday and Sunday will be the busiest, so we push for Friday or an early slot.
  • Dietary needs. Most ramyeon broths use meat or seafood. We check vegetarian, halal and allergy options before we confirm.
